Mumbai First, a prominent non-profit organisation committed to the betterment of Mumbai and its suburbs, is delighted to announce the revival of its Knowledge Series, Mumbai Happenings, this year. With a renewed vigour, our initiative seeks to unravel the intricacies of urban challenges and pave the way for a more sustainable, inclusive, and thriving Mumbai. Mumbai Happenings is structured as a recurring set of lectures once in two months, with experts from a variety of disciplines collaborating on our endeavour to address the intricate problems facing Mumbai City and its surrounding areas. Our goal is to promote constructive discourse, knowledge exchange, and cooperative problem-solving for a more sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant urban environment through engaging lectures. The series is in collaboration with the Bombay Management Association and Blue Ribbon Movement.

The first session from the series revolved around the BMC Budget Analysis. The presentation, followed by an insightful panel discussion about the interpretation of the Budget and understanding the details of MCGM’s budgetary processes.

As we continue with the next discussion on Mumbai Happenings, we are proud to present the second session focusing on knowing more about the Right to Services Act. The Right to Services Act provides that the citizens shall be provided services by the State Government in a transparent, efficient and time bound manner. Our discussion will delve into its nuances, implications, and potential impact on the lives of Mumbaikars.
