Climate-resilience in Mumbai: People Must Lead the Change

To mark the occasion of World Habitat Day (WHD), Mumbai First and AVID Learning are bringing together a diverse panel of experts to shed light on the pressing issue of climate change and economic resilience in Mumbai. They will share learnings from their own fields, and explore how citizens from diverse backgrounds — policy, research and the arts — can unite to future-proof the city.

In keeping with this year’s global theme for WHD — ‘Resilient Urban Economies: Cities as Drivers of Growth and Recovery’ — our discussion will unpack Mumbai’s vulnerability to climate change, with particular emphasis on the economic and social costs of such disruptions. Through community engagement, creative advocacy, green financing and other interventions, we will illuminate the path forward to turn Mumbai into a beacon of sustainable urban living.
